i used to ask the same thing when i was a 15 year old high school student now i'm a 21 year old college senior sometimes asking the same question. it's just the stress of the situation that's causing the doubts. hopefully you can keep it together and before you know it you'll be finished with high school. don't think about the future expectations too much. just live your life.

The point of it all is to go to college then when you are finished you can get a GOOD job so you won't be working 24/7 to make a living, you'll have it much easier than people who drop out of high school or don't go to college.
Quit complaining so much. If you want more time with your friends just stop being a cheerleader, thats an optional thing.
And don't say "OMG" so much either, it's annoying!

do you rather work in a burger stand? and only work for $4/hr? or you rather hold a sign saying "I need help! Work for food." and live in the street,
and university is not that hard, just challangeing, and of course a crap load of homework, but still, if you go to univeristy, you can get MORE FRIENDS, or you rather not go to univeristy and stick with only a few friends from primary school. and then fadly go away when THEY go to COLLEGE, and you not.
The Point is that, you can get a living, have a family, and afford them food and shelter, have your children go to school and have a job to support themselves.
And you dont work 24/7, if so, you be brain dead. and usually, ppl just work 5 days a week, and 10 hrs per day, you moron, USE YOUR BRAIN. and oh yea, every other country do this kind of stuff and education you idiot.
If in the future, and i met you in person and you were holding a sign saying you need help and work for food. i rather smack you in the head.
My advice is talk to your counseler or your parents.
also if you keep refusing that you dotn want to go to college and earn a job and living, YOUR PARENTS will force you, or they will kick you out of the house, and make you live in the street and see if you can live with a living, without earning a career from college.
IF you dont want the stress, QUIT CHEER TEAM, make your time little bit easier.
Here some question you want to think about.
What would you do, if your friends go to college and you don't but rather don't have a job and just be away from America?
If you hate life, and getting a job, and be stress out, then go KILL YOURSELF! gawd,
EVERYTHING IN LIFE MATTERS!!! GETTING A JOB MATTERS! GOING TO SCHOOL MATTERS!! HAVING CHILDREN WITH EDUCATION MATTERS!!
If you hate public school and university. then just homeschool!
but getting a job and a life after taht is complicated, because your not interested to go to college

It feels like a vicious circle doesn't it? I think we all feel that way sometimes.
Some people "live off" of others, they don't work or do anything with their lives, but I can't say they are any happier in the long run..maybe for a while, until the person taking care of them gets resentful, kicks them out or something.
I feel a sense of freedom knowing I can hang with my friends, have the money to do what I want and not having anyone telling me how much I can spend. I know a lot of people my age who still can't do that. I paid the price (school, entry level jobs) but now I'm glad I did.
Hang in there!

I know how you feel but trust me, the best years of your life are coming very soon. Why do you think they make movies about university life?! 15 hours a week of school! Parties, clubs, new friends and a sense of adulthood! Hang in there, take a program that you love and enjoy the ride. It only lasts 3-4 years...way too short! Unless you have a change of heart about school and become a doctor! :)
P.S. Go rent the movie "Van Wilder". It will give you some inspiration!

At your age, the point is to get a good education. That means more than just learning a bunch of facts. It means learning how to think, how to gather facts and put those facts in their proper relationship to one another, then learning how to solve problems.
It means acquiring an appreciation and an understanding of the world around you and what's going on in the world and why.
It means developing a strong work ethic, so you can pay your own way and not rely on others. It means learning how to control your own destiny;h ow to manage money: work, earn, save. I hope those 4 letter words sink in.
Education also means Continuous Improvement Trying to do things a little better tomorrow than the way you did them today.
Most of this applies to everyone: kids, baby boomers, geezers, etc.
It also means setting some worthwhile goals for yourself and then developing an action plan to achieve those goals. OK. I scratched the surface. The rest is up to you. Good Luck......and yeah ......Be healthy and happy.

dont worry about what other jerks have to say. TRUST ME, everyone feels like you do sometimes. sometimes i feel like giving up and say the same things you do, like whats the point. im a young mother of two (18month and 3 month old), full-time college student and work. what helps me the most is taking life one day at a time. life can be overwhelming sometimes, and for what? i know, but you will find your place in life and when you do you with find that sense of clarity about life and your purpose here. stay in school and go to college so you can get an education and do something you enjoy instead of being forced to do something u dont like just for money. you should live your life and be happy but you cant do that without working hard first. relax sometimes and take a breather, life is tough but it is how we mange our stress that keeps us going. cheer up hun and dont let others get you down.....i admire your courage and strength!!!!!!!!!!

and in that little italian village you're dreaming of, do you expect to just be given food and clothing and shelter? the point of studying is to get a good job. the point of getting a job is so that you can live in the way you want to live (in your own place or on the streets; eat good meals or check the garbage for scraps).
now, the point of living is something you can only find in your religion/beliefs. my personal goal is to do as much good as i can so that when i die, i go to that "better" place, instead of hell. no, i can't prove if it exists or not, but i'd rather believe and try, than take the risk by not believing.

Okay there really is no point in high school... all it gives u is a broken heart and a messed up life and waist of time. Home schooling is sooo much better and easier. And it lets u pick the life u want!!! Not what the school gives u.
