I would say Yao Ming but look when he gets frustrated he can't shoot a lick. The other centers are making there players better. Yao is not making T-mac better. Look at Shaq and how much better he's making Dwayne Wade.Ben Wallace has been defensive player of the year 4 years running.

At the moment it would have to be Yao. Shaq is way passed his prime. There aren't many true centers left. Duncan, Garnett, Jermaine O'Neal, Howard, Big Ben are all power forwards. While Yao is not as dominant as Shaq was in his prime, Yao at the moment is the best center in the NBA right now.

Statistically, it's Yao Ming with 26.4 points and 10.3 rebounds. Dwight Howard, though not a true center, has 16 points and 14.1 rebounds. and for anyone who think shaq is the best he only has 14 points 7 rebounds. Last year he only averaged 20 points. If you say he's the reason why they're losing sorry, but the heat just suck. Yao owns Shaq, he man handled alonzo mourning for all you heat fans literally, and was superior compared to shaq. No one can stop Yao

Yao Ming is the undisputed best center in the NBA. Shaq's prime has come and gone. Nobody else comes close. I mean come on he is averaging around 25 points and 10 rebounds again. Enough said.

Yao Ming. I don't think there's any question. Anyone who says Shaq is crazy. He is almost at the end, and declines a LOT every year. That is clealy Wade's team now.
By contrast Yao gets better every year, in all phases.

I guess none of you guys ever heard of Dwight Howard. They have him listed as a forward, but he's playing center this year.
If not Dwight, then it's Yao hands down. Shaq needs to give it up.
