Is it possible to get the post office to stop delivering those coupon circulars?

I get them almost every day, and I don't use them, nor do I want them. Is there a "do not call" sort of list for the U.S. Postal Service?

Yes you can go into your local office talk to the post master and sign a form saying you do not wish to recieve 3rd class mail. I did ! So those that think else wise have not taken that step, the po wants to keep it though as its a big moneymaker

No. I just mailed 22 notes to catalog companies, banks, insurance companies, etc. requesting that they remove my name & address from their mailing list and not to share with any other company.

Then I mailed requests to companies I wish to continue dealing with asking them not to give out my info to other companies.

It's important to include the label they used to mail whatever it is to you.

If the mailers don't have a name/address on them there is no way you can stop them. But it won't be so annoying if you cut down on the mailings you can stop. You need to give the companies at least 2 mos to comply with your request. And they must honor your request because there is a law requiring them to do so.

There's only one drawback. It costs a fortune in stamps. I keep a list showing name and date request sent - mostly just so that I don't waste another stamp.

No, the post office has to deliver all mail. It's the law. If you can find out who is sending them you can have your address deleted from their list.

'fraid not, nerdo, i hate them too, but they are what pays the post office bills. people pay to send them out and the p o makes millions a year off of them.
