Depending on format:
128kbs (most common format) 500 songs
64kbs (my personal favorite) 1000 songs
What the kbs means is the quality of the mp3, the lower rate, the lower the quality, but honestly, i cannot hear a difference between a 64kbs or a 128kbs, for me, the only thing that is different is the size :D

Depends in how may kbps it is recorded in, also how lond the song is. If it is recorded recorded in 128 kbps (most commonly) it will hold some where around a minute a megabite. So probally somewhere around 500 maybe a little more songs.

If your songs are of average size like that ranging from 3-5 MB you'll be able to store around 500 songs. It depends on the size of the file actually.

350 to 500 songs depending on the bit rate that you encode them at. At a 128 kbps bit rate, you're looking at close to 500 songs. At a 196 kbps bit rate (recommended) you're looking at closer to 350-400 songs.
Trust me, do not encode at 64 kbps unless you use the AAC codec, and even then you'll take a small hit on sound quality.
