Men sometimes buy beer.

seriously, you need to lay down the law as to what is important that benefits BOTH of you

As someone who spends lots of money on his trucks, I understand. Unfortunately it seems like he values his car more than your life together. You'll have to give him an ultimatum at some point, so you can use the money for something that benefits you both, house, etc. The car is a money pit and you almost never get out of it what you spent on it, unless you can put a value on the enjoyment of dressing it up and driving it..

You didn't say if you were married,so I'll assume you are and you work.A couple should usually discuss the bills and expenses for things needed including car parts.I was pretty car crazy myself, but my family never went without also.I pretty much quit in my fifty's, sorry its a hobby and I'm sure its important to him.You guys have got to talk about it and come to some kind of agreement to go on and have a happy life.

Sit down together. Add up all your income in one column & all your expenses in the other column. Agree on your fixed expenses, entertainment, and emegency money and/or savings. Then agree together to save 10% of your income every paycheck. If he still spends on his car & you save 10% it's okay...if he spends on his car & fails to save 10%--hold him accountable.

If that fails, pour sugar water in his gas tank (Just kidding, don't do that!)
