My boss and I get along very well. I love my job and have been told that I am doing a great job . The other day my boss asked me if I liked what I was doing then told me I was overqualified. What gives?

Sounds to me like she's giving you a compliment or maybe she's concerned that you're so good you might not be satisfied in this position much longer. If it bothers you, let her know what's on your mind, and if you enjoy your job, tell her so as well :)

Sounds like you might be exceeding her expectations. Be open to talking with her about promotion but let her lead the way.

Maybe she is trying to see if you are interested in a promotion.
