I think u mean
(3x / (x-9)) - (27 / (x-9) ) =
(3x - 27 ) / ( x - 9) =
3(x-9) / (x-9) = 3

3x/x-9-(27/x-9) as written
3x/x-9-27/x+9
3-27/x

if you meant 3/x instead of 3x/x
3/x-9-(27/x-9)
3/x-9-27/x+9
-24/x

Which is it?

3x/x - 9 minus 27/x - 9 ||||or||||* 3x/x - 9 minus 27/x - 9

3x/x - 9 - 27/x - 9 ||||||||||||||||||||||| (3x/x - 9) - (27/x - 9)

3(x/x - 3 - 9/x - 3) ||||||||||||||||||||||| 3x/x - 9 - 27/x + 9

3 (1 - 3 - 9/x - 3) |||||||||||||||||||||||| 3x/x - 27/x

-3 (9/x + 5) ||||||||||||||||||||||||| 3 * x/x - 27/x

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| 3 - 27/x -or- 3( 1 - 9/x)

The other possibility (and what you probably mean):

(3x/(x-9)) - (27/(x-9))

= (3x - 27)/(x-9)

= 3(x-9)/(x-9)

= 3

First thing when you subtract fractions is to make sure they have a common denominator (they do: x-9) then subtract the numerator and put that result over the common denominator. (same process as adding)
