It might not be the kind of music you normally listen to and before I heard it, it was the kind of music I listened to either, but you did say anything of quality and this definitely applies. All I know is I can't help wearing a big grin when I put it on. I'm talking about Bluegrass and in particular, The Dillards. Boy can they play!
Give it a go, honestly.

Anything Amos Lee or John Legend - both have old CD's but just came out with new ones.

Old Amos Lee CD is self titled - New one is called Supply and Demand

Old John Legend CD is called Let's Get Lifted - New CD is called Once Again

If you want some great artists that are not well-known go to cdbaby.com and listen to Emily Elbert and Julia Easterlin. See if you like what you hear. Both of these girls are amazingly talented artists who compose their own music.

"KY" by Lemon Jelly (electronica chill out)
"Peace Orchestra" by Peter Kruder (chill out beats)
"La Revencha Del Tango" by Gotan Project (mix of electronic with tango, it's very good).

These bands aren't too commercial. These 3 albums are very good. Enjoy. Let me know what you thought of it.
