By living respectfully...live your life with character. Don't lie, try your best to always do the right thing, take care of your own responsibilities, valuing other people and just being the best person that you can be.

It depends on what you did to lose that respect in the first place. Some things that are done can never get that respect back. In the town I live in we had a Deputy Sheriff who was well known and respected by everyone that knew him. He molested his 13 yr old niece and is now in prison. He will never get back that respect.
You get in a fight with some one and say something you shouldn't or you punch them, after wards you realize it was a mistake and you apologize. That's a start in getting back respect. Some people are just tough nuts to crack, whether it's them being old fashioned or hard headed.

1. Stop the behavior that cost you your respect.
2. Behave like you deserve respect. Expect to be treated with respect.
3. Time. Sometimes lots of time. And patience. Stick to (2).

That's a good question. I wish you'd added some more detail as to whose respect you have lost (I'm assuming it's you.) and what you did to lose this person's respect. It takes time. The greater the wrong, the harder you will have to work to regain this person's respect. You can regain respect through actions that are honorable and decent. But like I said, it takes time.

First of all, you treat others how you would like to be treated. Respect isn't given, it's earned. And when you lose someone's respect it takes ALOT to earn it again, especially if you have broken their trust, the are not going to be as easy to trust you or respect you. SO, you need to take a long hard look at yourself, and look at what you did to lose that respect, and work VERY hard at regaining it.

This is a very general question. I guess you respect those around you. it is a 2 way street. You need to treat your friends and family like you wish to be treated.

Give respect.

Set boundaries.

Conduct yourself well.

Don't talk crap about people - even OTHER people to the person you want respect from.

Be professional.

Take care of your end of the bargain/work.

Communicate.

Don't always be negative and/or complain?

From who specifically? A spouse? Parent? Coworker? Boss? Sibling?

By not trying hard to get it. Dont try and force someone to respect you but instead try and earn it from them. As cheesy as this sounds helping them helps you. Try your best to be there friend and an authority figure. It's kind of hard but you will get it eventually.

What happened sugar? How did you lose it?

However, try forgiving yourself that will be a good start, if you do not judge yourself, none will. The second thing remember "woman, thou art lose!"

Remain lose.

hang in there and do ot despair, if there were more details, we could go to specifics.

Good luck
