Hi I have a question about ortho tri cyclen lo. I stopped taking this pill almost 2 months ago and I had a period on October 13th, but I have yet to start this month. I have taken several pregnancy tests that all have come out negative. Could it be that my cycles just aren't adjusted yet? I took it for about 2 1/2 years. Thanks for any help.

Yep, I have a friend that took it for 13 yrs. She finally had to get off and she bled for weeks. I guess that goes with tricking your body into thinking it was pregnant for 13 yrs, it had to make some major adjustments.

I was on birth control for about 4 years. I was on Ortho-tri-cyclen-Lo for about a year of it. I went off the pill because I wanted to get pregnant and then I, too, didn't get my period. I took pregnancy tests but they were negative. Anyway, in my research, (and this is true for all birth control pills) it can take up to 3 months for someone to get their period. Anyway, 12 pregnancy tests & 1 1/2 months later I found out I was pregnant.

Since you already got your period, I would assume that your body would be on a regular cycle. UNLESS you had irregular cycles before going on birth control pill. How late are you? I'd wait a few more days (or a week) to make sure your cycle lengths aren't just irregular. (My first cycle post birth was 37 days, this last one was 32 days, who knows when my next one will come...)

If you don't get your period in the next few days, take another pregnancy test. It may just be that there wasn't enough of the pregnancy hormone in your urine. Do some research online for the p.tests that are more sensitive--which doesn't necessarily mean more expensive. I belive the First Reponse...or answer...I can't remember which...was one of the better ones. Also, use first morning urine or only test after it's been at least 4 hours since you peed last.

Hope this helps--I know how frustrating it is. If you don't get your period or a positive test after 2 weeks, I'd get a blood test.

I was on the same thing for almost two years, and the same thing happened to me. I would skip a month or two, get it for 2 weeks straight.. Took a good 6 months for me to be 'back to normal'.
