Nothing is better than knowing for a fact he is thinking about me when we're not together and a little gift...or a quick "I Love You" text message in the middle of the day does that wonderfully!
I also love it when I look across the room at a party or something and see that my partner has been looking at me...makes me all warm inside.

hmmm. it depends on what this "unexpected" thing is. if it was a gift, then yes. if it was AIDS, or chlamydia, then no.
