There are 13 spade suit cards.

Each of them has 2 corner pips. That makes 26 spades.

Then, in the middle of the cards - Ace to 10 - there are a total of 55 spades.

Each of the court cards (J, Q, K) has 2 spades on it - total, 6 spades.

Grand total: 26 + 55 + 6 = 87 spades.
