You see, Ed Belfour once played for the Sharks, and he hated every second of his time in San Jose (and he let everybody know it). He refused to play for the Sharks; he wanted out and he got it. He then went to the Sharks' hated rivals, the Dallas Stars, and the rest is history. And to anybody that says that the Sharks hate Pronger more, they don't. Belfour is the most hated person in Sharks history. Period. At a Sharks game that I went to a while back, the news came up on the Jumbotron that the Stars released Ed Belfour, and the stadium ERUPTED in cheer. Don't get me wrong, I hate Pronger as much as the next guy, but he is only hated, while Ed Belfour is looked upon as the pus that clogs the fungus that feeds on the pond scum of the world.

Eddie B didnt give it his all when he played in SJ. He wasnt looking to go to an up and coming team that was in a rebuilding stage. He wanted to go to a contender, hence why he signed with Dallas the next year and low and behold he came out full tilt and won a cup.

Ed rejected a 7.3 million dollar contract in San Jose for a 4.8 Million dollar in Florda. (Personaly I would have taken the 7 million dollar contract,)

maybe because they traded for him at the trade deadline back around 97 and he sucked. He then went to Dallas the next year and was great.
