I was looking for a job during Christmas break and that was one of the benifits..Does it mean you have the opportunity to raise the wage if you've worked there efficiently?

No, that means the wages offered at their company is similar or very close to other companies' offering the same type of service. For example, if you apply at Wal-Mart and they offer x amount of money, they are competitive since Target also offers the same amount of money.
