I marry people for a living. What I do is a civil ceremony similar to being married by a judge. The churches here send couple to me for the legal marriage and they later get married in the church.

A marriage is not legal unless recognized by the state. You have no privledges of a married couple without it.

I dont know about your state but most will not even let you get married until the license is signed. so it may not be legal. If they want the benefits of being married then they need that piece of paper. If not then hey, be happy.

Not in my church, i am not sure what other churches are willing to do. This sounds more like a commitment ceremony rather than a legal marriage. I am sure you can find someone willing to preform one. God bless****
