How come when I type I double type words. I don't realize I do it until I re-read what I type. I'm just wondering if anyone else does it or knows why that happens.

example: Yesterday I was was walking down the road.

Thanks.

I actually do this somewhat, when I type essays. It is strange sometimes, and looks funny. Just thank goodness that the computer can tell when I do do it.

For me, I do it because I have two ideas I try to fit into one secnetence, and sometimes I just put the two together. Other times, it is just that I get distracted from typing for a second, and start typing with what I had already said.

Good Luck, and the best thing to do is probally proofread your work!

Best of Luck!

Yep, it happens to me a lot and I was a writer before I retired. It seems to be happening more with age, but I don't think it's a sign of a major problem.

BTW, I also find I type totally different words that sound alike. For exampe, I just typed "works" instead of "words."

Yes, it could just indicate a lack of concentration. I once said to a student "I'll explain that in the middle" when I really meant to say "I'll explain that in a minute".

i think you're not concentrating on the words you're typing or not moving your eyes ahead of what you're typing. i only had that problem when i could not concentrate on the words i needed to type :)
