I am divorced and live about 3000 miles away from my ex and child. I have a choice as to how to spend Thanksgiving.

I can spend with the Newly Singles Group (for people who have been married before but are now single) or spend it with some family friends.

The Newly Singles Group will be formal and not traditionally a Thansksgiving dinner. I only know a few of the people in the group and find it hard making small talk.

The family dinner will include my parents and other family friends that I grew up with. The problem is that I feel left out there because everyone is married and happily settled.

I am the only person whose life is a total mess. My job is not workking out, child is living away from and not doing too well and have had to move back in with my parents. I really don't have much good to talk about.

Its a hard decision. I don't know if I should attend both or just the luncheon with the newly singles.

Attend both. Once your family is gone you will miss the moments you could have spent with them. Go to the singles group as well, you never know what fate will bring you! Have a great day and good luck.

I say go hang out with the ppl at The Newly Singles Group. I'm sure you will find something to talk about and plus you might meet some really cool people. If you hang out with your family and friends for Thanksgiving, they'll just brag the entire time of how wonderful their life is making you feel like sh!t. whichever you pick, i hope you have fun.

Tell you what, why don't you come here for the holiday. About everybody here is already screwed up so you will fit right in. Let me know and I will set you a plate.

Stick with your family. Even though you feel left out because of your marital situation, they still love you.
