I injured my foot and was told it is my 2nd metatarsal bone. What is the best way to treat this. The pain is getting worse...especially when I am barefoot

Is it a microfracture or a complete fracture? If you can't walk because of the pain, try putting hot compress on the area and yes, take some mefenamic acid as well. The bones will heal in time. I am sure it's not a complete fracture since your doctor didn't require you to immobilze it eg. casting. Good luck

there isn't really anything that you can do about this. you can keep weight off of it and keep it elevated. If you dr. gave you pain killers pop those suckers down.
