I'm looking into becoming a pilot and i was wondering, after fly school, and you get hired with an airline, do you choose where you live, or how does all that work?

Usually your first step in the airlines is with a commuter airline which has bases all around the country. Depending upon which aircraft you will be flying, that determines where you will be based. Most pilots if the are not based close to where they live the commute to the aircraft, ie. hop another flight to where your base is. You will usually be on for a certain amount of days and the airlines have apartments/houses near there hubs that most pilots sleep at when they are away from home. Its usually just a couple of rooms with a bunch of beds in it, nothing glamorous.

Once you get to the majors and have a bit more seniority you can start to request where you hub will be and you hopefully will get it and not have to commute.
