Can you think of a time when someone, or some industry, took a stand on an issue even when it went against their own self-interests?

I make an effort always to tell the truth for the bible says to lie is a sin and I take a stand on issues that are in contrast to the bible and as with wal-mart coming out for queers i will not shop there ever again one cannot be on the side of right and God and promote the things that God says are wrong and sinful I try very hard to obey the bible and if it means I walk alone in this world that is ok as I want the next world more but one must believe the bible and have faith I wish the same for you

Of course no one is perfect but I can say that I always try to put truth before
self interest .
