No, the character of Aragorn would more closely resemble Jason. Both were leaders of warriors, both led some soldiers to battle in boats. That is where the resemblence ends, however. Jason was totally attached to his boat, the Argos, which was a living vessel. He left his wife and children behind for it! Eventually, at the end of his life, Jason realized his true poverty (even though he was a mighty warrior, etc) sitting beside his rotting ship (which was still alive!). A piece of the ship falls on his head and kills him.

A closer resemblance to the Jason story might be found in the Andromeda series, which was carried on the SciFi channel. The Andromeda was a sentient robot-ship, completely loyal to it's Captain Hunt. Cpt. Hunt was a time-travelling alien, with no family (they are long dead, left behind in time) that looked human. He jogs around the galaxy, trying to save it from all sorts of evil, but ultimately ends up with nothing but his precious warship, for all his trouble.
