I don't think it could "fall" into the ocean.
But if you follow along with global warming rasing the sea level, then at some point if it stayed where it is, that location would be underwater. I would have to think it would be moved further inland if that happened.

No....the rock that is reconized as "Plymouth Rock" is actually about 500 feet or so from the actual ocean. It is in a kinda park like setting and there is a protective gazabo built around it. You can walk up to the large gazago and look down into a bit of a pit that the rock is resting in. You are not allowed to touch it or get close to it. Only look at it. It is quit a bit smaller than I thought it would be. it would probably fit in a shopping cart at the grocery store.

Check a picture of the plymoth rock, it lays only some feet above the water in Plymoth/MA.

I think your teacher refers to global warming. I enclosed a link. Even the EPA (environmental Prtection Agency) has a website.

I seems there is a consensus that global warming is happening but the consequnces for a specific point of the earth are not predictable. It is generally expected that the sea levels rise , the question is: will it be enough to drown Plymoth Rock ? (They would move it upward anyway ...)

I suggest you mention global/climate change in your paper, for your generation this will be one of the "hottest" topic to deal with.

You may celebrate Thanksgiving in 2050 thanking that our generation was intelligent enough to reduce green house gases and stopped it ...
