The reset button will need to be pushed every 4-12 hours (random intervals) to get the heat to kick on. It then comes up to temperature and maintains the correct temp for a random amoutn of time before needing to be reset again.. Any ideas? We just had the unit serviced! it seemed to work better before.. ..

Thanks

Thanks to all who answered... The service company came back out and fixed it free of charge..They even admitted the last tech put it back together incorrectly!

Don't do anything to it before contacting the service guy, he will say you caused it, but call him soon. Shouldn't cost anything if it was just serviced.

we had the same problem.there was junk in the line.sometimes if u run the tank low or empty it will suck in the crud on the bottom of the tank.you may have to blead the system, while your doing that change the oil filter too.if you just got a fill up and ran the furnace without waiting a hour or two your chances are good that u sucked a bunch of crud in the line.its easy to do and our service guy didn't charge us to do that,,most or all will.If u go to restart the system and it wont start after 3 tries STOP get the service man there or u could blow yourself up..for real.

It is very possible theat the Ignition transformer is bad. Even thought it can cycle, a few shorted windings will cause it to trip the reset. I have seen the exact symptoms/problems a lot. It could be the igniter points themselves, but i doubt it very much.

It is possible that you have air bubbles in your fuel line. You could try bleeding the fuel to get any air bubbles out. Do a search online and there are sites that can tell you how to do it yourself. It is not much different than bleeding the brakes in car.

I agree with most answers. Get the dude back! You have an intermittant problem that he caused or didn't wait around long enough to spot. :-)=
