In my case it was good i was away from my fathe he was very abusive so my mother did the right thing. less yelling more peace and no fighting. as long as you feel loved you should be fine you could have to parents who are very busy and have no time for there kids or you could have one parent but who is always there for you.

My parents divorced when I was in high school. It was hard sometimes, but in the long run it was better because our home life was much calmer after my dad left. You can still be close to the parent you don't live with. Your parents still love you. And, most importantly...everything that happens in life, even the bad things, is a chance to learn and grow into a better person.

Yep I sure am. My dad left when I was 4, and then my parents tried to work it out, but they ultimately got divorced when I was 6. Its hard trying to explain to people about my family. Both parents are remarried, my dad has 3 step children and my mom had a son with my step dad. People have a tendency to look differently at you when you tell them your parents arent together anymore.

Yes, my parents are divoriced. They divoriced when i was about 10. It was extremely painful for me. When we were learning about holidays or something in school it really sucked, because i always had to remember that my family wasn't really a family. At the age of 12 I had a total breakdown and ended up having to see a therapist about my parents divorice. Yeah it sucked, but when i look at my parents now,my parents are TOTAL oppsites. Anyway the worst part of divorice was remarriage. Right now my dad is engaged to a 36 year old...my dad is 57.

every situation is different, for me it sucked. My marriage failed as well as my bothers and I do feel that coming from divorced parents we never knew what a real family life was or what a real marriage should be. Neither me or my brother ever married again I think my parents divorcing had alot to do with this as well.

When my parents were married (8 years ago) we had everything. When they got divorced, we were forced to move into a trashy trailer, and my dad was on the streets. We didn't see him much, and my sister and I started to get into a lot of trouble. Once my dad got back on his feet, we were allowed to visit, but it was different. It wasn't right to have separate time with each parent. My sister and I got into so much trouble living with my mom, the courts gave my dad custody. Ever since then, it feels like we're being tossed back and forth. Whenever one of them doesn't want us, the other one gets us. My mom just recently kicked me out of her house for something I didn't do, and now my dad is upset because she won't even let me stay one night. And of course he needs time to himself, so I really have no where to go. When going through a divorce, you need as much support as you can get, and hope your parents are mature enough to get along (no offense, but mine aren't.)
