As answered above going to the local library is a good place to start. Most libraries have converted their newspapers to microfiche. You could also try contacting the Seattle Police department and filing a Freedom of Information Act request (or Washington State Sunshine Law request) for the police report including photos from the scene. I would imagine that since it was a fatal the police took photos.

Go to the Seattle City Libary, they surely have old newspapers, they must have one, b/c every City Libary have old newspapers for people's purpose.
