because Christians are hypocrites ... they use the bible as a guide to inflict their views ... slavery, inferior women, homophobia among others came from the bible ... yet they don't respect the bible enough to not ear pork or not cut their hair etc ... follow it all or don't bother

Jewish dietary laws are not mandated for gentile Christian believers, for the same reason that gentiles are not "required" to circumcise themselves and their sons when they convert: nobody is required to become Jewish to be saved.

There are several different kinds of laws found in the Old Testament. Some are moral: the 10 Commandments and their many applications are moral laws. Some laws are sacrificial, detailing proper forms of worship and sacrifice, holy observances, etc. Some laws are cultural in nature:"this is how you will behave in life, to be properly identified as an Isrealite". These cultural laws include dietary restrictions, modes of dress, standards of cleanliness, circumcision, etc.

There was a HUGE debate in early Christian times about this whole thing. Many Gentiles were converting to the Messiah, and everybody was concerned with "what made a good Christian". The debate is summarized in Acts 15. Some people wanted to require all Gentiles to become good Jews before they could be saved; it would have required signing into ALL of the OT laws (Law of Moses), not just the Decalogue. The conclusion reached by the Apostles was that an entire Mosaic conversion was not necessary for salvation. Gentiles could remain gentiles, and still be saved. Certain moral guidlelines were laid down, but not the whole Mosaic Law.

The restrictions were before Christ. When he died for us
all the old rules were forgotten. The Jews still observe
because they don't believe in Jesus like us smart people do.
They'll eat a chicken.Have you ever seen what a chicken
eats when loose in the back yard around dogs? They eat
dog $hit.

I don't know. My grandmother spoke about this once but I forget. It seems like a lot of people like to pick and choose what to take from the Bible. If it doesn't suit their needs, they ignore it. I don't know if this applies to food restrictions, but it very well could.
