No.
I started playing competitive volleyball 4 weeks after giving birth. And I began sit ups right after to get back into shape.
Everyone's body is different, and unless your doctor gives you that direction, it is the view of that person that told you or it is that person's experience. Nothing more.

NO!!!!!!!!! You can start doing your regular routine abs included, as soon as you get the approval from the doctor. With my c-section it was 6 weeks then I was good to go. I could do anything I wanted. Sure I was tender, but oh well.
IT is vaginal, normally you have about a 2 week wait until you can resume exercise. It just depends on your body. ASK THE DR IF YOU ARE NERVOUS ABOUT STARTING BACK.

That seems like way too long I had 2 c-sections and I started working out my second week home with each baby but the doctors usually say to wait 6 weeks, I started out slowly working out and built up to a normal routine over time

No...usually they say that you can resume normal activity 6 weeks postpartum. For a C-section it cculd be longer. To make sure, it is always best to ask your OB/GYN at your next visit to evaluate your situation. But 6-9 months is too long of a time to wait.

you can usually begin exercising again at about 6 wks after having a baby - longer if it's c-section. At your 6 wk check-up just ask your doctor about it to make sure.

It is usually a 6 week wait after a vaginal delivery. The wait is longer for C section. When you go in for your post delivery exam.....which is usually in 6 weeks you should discuss it with your doctor then.

When to start
Many obstetricians and midwives suggest waiting until your six-week postpartum checkup before beginning to exercise, although the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists says it's okay to start exercising right away if you feel up to it. (If you had a c-section, it's wise to wait for about six weeks.)

that's if you have a c-section. But it is true your body doesn't recover until 6 months later, so it kind of would be pointless. the muscle wall isn't sealed yet.

No, more like 6 weeks. If you have a c-section, it may be longer, until you are completely healed.
