The "new direction" was their primary campaign agenda up until Nov 7 - they never really explained any particulars about what it meant.
Apparently, the voters were so disenchanted with the present direction, they didn't care what it meant.
Ever since Nixon stole the plans from their offices in the Watergate Hotel, they apparently keep them top secret now. I don't know of anyone who can lay out their planned agendas - concerning any topic.
