Good question. Yes they should scrap this Freedom Tower rubbish and rebuild the Twin Towers exactly the same as they were - but maybe twice as tall and twice as wide, to put two fingers up at the people that perpetrated this crime - to show that the spirit and enterprise which put the towers up in the first place has not been diminished.
However this time they should build it with a means of getting people out in the top floors - unlocking the roof doors might be a start (they were locked apparently to stop people commiting suicide - the irony)!!!
Maybe they should consider some sort of parachute system, afterall 'base jumping' has been an extreme sport for sometime now - asking the enthusiasts that follow and do this sport for their advice might be a good idea.
But possibly the most important reason I would rebuild them is because a lot of feature films are based in New York and it's like a B.C.& A.D. situation, any film I'm watching that predates the tragedy when I see the twin towers in the background, I'm seriously distracted from the film and get a cold shouder down my spine, especially if the film I'm watching is a thriller, because I know however shocking or brutal the film is supposed to be - seeing them in the background is a reminder of how much more brutal reality is than the fiction I'm watching - knowing that they're not there anymore! So my point is, that if they rebuilt them - from one film to the next it would be like it never happened, although obviously we could not and should not forget it did happen; but from a Public Relations point of view - in the future, that seemless chronology of the 'old towers' and the 'new towers' in films we see in the Cinema and TV etc., might help to make the cold reality of the whole situation more palitable.

I think that we should: 1. update all commercial airlines so that no that no passengers can enter the cockpit (like on Israeli Airlines) thus ending the threat of this type of attack in one swoop 2. build the freedom tower design but much larger more impressive version 3. build a memorial on the footprints for the victims families also using the same architect (liebeskind)...This guy is a good architect and his design embodied the spirit of a rememberance of what happened coupled with a spirit to move on. the only thing I say is that I think the original liebeskind design should be even larger. It should give the message: yes we recognize that we were attacked and we aren't going to pretend it never happened, the victims of the tragedy deserve that, and we will only get stronger when attacked.
Unfortunately they are going to build this new redesigned nasty zit into the NYC skyline...I mean it's just a frankenstein of a design...Thanks Silverstein we all appreciate it.

I suppose I'll be the second logical answer. 1. I think you mean 9/11/01 2. The freedom tower along with a few other towers are planning to be built. Construction is planned to be completed in 2013, but due to the financial 'issues', the complex may not be completed until 2036. World Trade Center 7 has already been rebuilt on the site.

Should we re-build the World Trade Center? Yes, with a memorial that identifies every victim of the plane crashes & the collapse of both towers. By re-building the WTC, we send the bad guys a message that America will not die. We are stronger than they can possibly imagine. If we do not rebuild we give in to the terrorists.

Did we not learn from the first time? Is there a real need to build some tall monstrousity just screaming out "terrorists hit here again"
Why not just build some type of really good memorial to remember all the people who passed away from the tragedy.

freedom tower.but it should be stronger ,plane proof if possible.my reason would be that the word freedom means more than trade.they tried to kill our trade.but we need to keep our freedom.it should actually be the world freedom tower.we want to stop terrorism through the whole world.

I'm in favor a memorial wall with all the names of the victims.
And a wreath for every victim.

I think we should build a large building with a memorial in it somewhere. But, it shouldn't be too big.
