When accepting his award, Kirk Franklin spoke of himself as usual, and thanked everyone else but God. Awfully strange for someone winning an award in the Christian category isn't it?

FlavaBoot you're obviously a fan of Kirk Franklin trying to help him save face. I am recording the show, and just watched his acceptance speech for the second time, and he did NOT thank God.

Let me add, he did mention all those things about how gospel music is taking off, but did not mention his Lord and Savior. Of course he is going to mention gospel music, that's why he was there, and it's lucrative for him.

He's become more and more mainstream with time. I had his one CD, Kirk Franklin and the Family. Remember "Why We Sing?" . That was music that stirred your soul. Everything is so funky and R+B now. I'm not saying that funky and R+B are bad, it just ain't gospel music that takes you to another level. He's become more worldly than spiritual. So to answer the question, no, I'm not surprised.

I noticed that as well. However, with Kirk Franklin I'm not surprised. He has been dealing with pride, pornography, and many things for years now. All we can do is pray for him and leave it in God's hands. His wife must be going through a great deal. If what they've publically revealed has been shocking, I can't imagine what's "really going on" behind closed doors.
