There are at least 3 serious issues associated with 'acid-blockers' like ranitidine.

1) They do not treat the cause of your gastritis.

2) They are well-documented in the scientific literature to cause malabsorption of important nutrients such as calcium, iron and vitamin B12.

3) They are well-documented in the scientific literature to cause bacterial over-growth in the upper part of the digestive tract. This can be a very devastating condition that can cause all types of 'hard to explain' chronic health problems because of: 1) the toxicity they create in the liver, 2) the chronic inflammation bacteria can create in the gut and systemically in the body, and 3) the chronic malabsorption of vital nutrients that result from it.

You may want to consider finding a good Naturopathic Physician, Chiropractor, or Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CCN) to help you find and fix the cause of your condition.

Best wishes and good luck.
