1) Don't buy electronics equipment made by a manufacture that isn't well known.
2) Don't base your purchase off of the amount of megapixels.
More megapixels does not equal a better picture, it simply means that the picture will be larger. The whole megapixel thing is a MARKETING SCAM. The only advantage for having anything higher than say 4 MP is that you can crop your picture and still print it to a large size. I personally hardly ever crop a picture.
A much greater factor in picture quality is the size of the image sensor. In fact many manufactures are in a megapixel war, but what they don't tell the consumer is that if you have two cameras with the same size image sensor, only one sensor is say 6 megapixels and the other is 10, the 6 megapixel will most likely actually be more sensitive to light, thus it will take better pictures in low-light situations like when you are indoors.
I say, no, don't buy it. Search through review sites online and educate yourself before you make your purchase. Here is a good site for learning the basics: http://www.easycamcorders.com
Good luck! Hope this helps :)

Do NOT get a 3 megapixel camera, they suck, go with the 5.0

Why don't you donate the money to charity?
You know, maybe save a few lives. A person's life is way more valuable than any digital camera.
