How about a fireplace with everyone's names on your team on a stocking with the fire in the fire place? And milk and cookies in the background? And tape Christmas Cards on the mantle.
All you need is just to cover the front of the door with LOTS of construction paper. Go to a teaching supply store and buy big rolls of the colored paper. Make sure you cover the door with the base color and cut a hole for the door. And cut out the shapes of the fireplace, stockings, the mantle, milk and cookies and the fire. Glue them onto the paper covering the door in the design, tape the cards onto the paper above the mantle, and Voila! A beautiful scene!

It's flat and won't get in the way!

If you can, use lots of lights. People love sparkly lights - nothing makes you think of Christmas more. I would stick with a traditional, classy look. Mount garland intertwined with lights and ribbon around the door frame, and mount a wreath in the middle. You could put ornaments that are relative to your line of work on the wreath/garland. Or you could wrap you door in wrapping paper and ribbon like a big present before putting the garland around the outside. Whatever you do if you stick with using a few nice, tasteful, classy pieces instead of going over the top with EVERYTHING that's left over in the garage from years ago it will appeal to more people and you will be more likely to win the contest. Good Luck!

get a bunch of cards (buy then by the box) and decorate the door for old time memories (of letters instead of e-mails) cut the message apart from the card and have others sign them for personal touch
