I see so many people being obsessed with this stuff, and I wonder how healthy it really is. I am not a fan, so maybe someone can give me a reason why they are so popular.

Reality shows are a bad thing.
They're popular because there are apparently a lot of disturbed people out there... there's no other explanation for their popularity..they have no value, you can't learn anything from them, they're not entertaining, they're boring... what's the appeal? There is none... why not sit on your front porch and watch your neighbor pull a few weeds instead? At least you'd be outside getting some fresh air!
They're also popular because people don't like to read.

I suspect most of these are put-ons anyhow. I read the French chateau in the Bachelor was really in Oregon. Also the islands in Survivor were in Central America. The African survivor was probably filmed in the desert of Calif.
These shows are not reality at all with contestants sleeping in nice quarters with nice food everyday, while filming some cute little "immunity" contest.

I don't like reality shows. It's like watching a home movie of someone. They can get boring fast.
I don't know why they are so popular either, what ever happened to sitcoms with those catchy theme songs?
I'm a KISS fan and never got interested in seeing Family Jewels cuz it would totally change to way I look at Gene. I bet he doesn't even wear makeup in that show.

Reality TV is just a simplistic way in which people who want to get on television take advantage of it and make an *** of themselves. for example: Flavor of Love. New york was trying so hard to get wit that chiwawa lookin man, FLAVOR FLAV! but I digress. Reality TV is good to someone who enjoys watching people rip each other apart or eat something gross, but bad to the people who say "what is this drivel?" and change the channel. this is just me, I don't speak for everyone

I LOVE reality TV. But i wonder how real it really is. I'm not addicted at all, but the shows can become so interesting that u don't want to miss a single episode.

I love watching them. I get to root for a certain team or person. It's not alot different than a game show where you root for a certain contestant to win. I mainly watch Survivor and Big Brother. I have watched every episode of both of these since they started.

there are various yet right here Comes Honey Boo Boo could be between the worst ever. BQ: it could't be the final yet I get exhilaration from American Pickers. I even dvr it at the same time as traveling/working. i don't be attentive to why, yet i like to be certain what they locate and learn related to the historical past of the products got here upon.

Reality shows are definitely a good thing as they encourage hidden talents in our youth and those who are able and worth it do achieve it. Such as Diwakar Sharma,Sanchita,Sameer of "Li'l Champs" have achieved what they wanted.No one the world knew them but now they are so very popular.

I don't care for them. Not that it's any skin of my teeth but I hate that these big corporations make a ton of money off some poor slob eating bugs of something. Nope I'd rather be flossing.

I watch them cuz it always makes my life look like roses! lol I like the wife swap and trading spouses! I watch dog the bounty hunter-when they r new ones! But never watch the model show or the bachelor or any of that!
