i am going to buy a Dell Laptop ,can anyone please tell me which Processor can i prefer for better perfromance and Speed.AMD or INtel!

Intel Core 2 Duo for laptops.
Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 for desktops.
AMD doesn't even come close.

The best processors available are Intel's Core 2 Duo, which are their best dual-core chips. Next best are AMD's X2 series of chips, which are better than Intel's Pentium-D and Pentium 4.
I believe Intel has introduced a version of their Core 2 duo called Centrino duo mobile, specifically for laptops/notebooks.

without a question -- not even a hesitation -- get an intel core 2 duo. AMD Turion is the cheap really low quality processor that AMD makes. Go INTEL!

i djust like to point out that AMD GHz and Intel GHz aren't the same. AMD does more with less GHz. but in this case, the intel is the way to go because of better performance/speed.

No, of course no longer. it won't harm it bodily. as long because of the fact the heatsinks are unfastened from dirt and the fan spins wisely, then your processor is sturdy to choose for any utility no count number how CPU-annoying that's.
