I just bought a bigger hard drive for my laptop. I want to keep the old hard drive for games, and use the bigger one for all my movie, music, pics, and work stuff. How do i store the hard drive that isnt being used? can i just toss it in a drawer, or should i store it in some special wrapping?

i wouldn't exchange the new drive with the old one because the old one contain the OS. just get an external 2.5" USB 2.0 enclosure and put the new disk in there. then move all movies, music, pics and games from the old one to the new one and keep all the work stuff on the old one, this will free up enough space to work with.
with that enclosure you can use both disks at the same time. that's precisely what i'm doing. the big and not that important stuff like music and videos is on the external drive, the important stuff is on the internal drive.

this is a pretty good enclosure for IDE notebook disks. keep in mind that you need another case if the new one is a SATA disk.

do NOT just toss it in a drawer; a hard drive is a precision instrument that must me handled very carefully. After removing the hard drive DO NOT drop it!!!! If that happens, it is possible that all of your documents will go POOF! Wrap the drive thoroughly in bubble wrap, place the drive in a place that doesn't get hot or cold.

You should store it in an antistatic bag somewhere out of the way where it wont be handled. This will protect it from dust, static charges, and mishandling.

If you have an anti-static bag like new drives come in, use that.

You could purchase an external drive enclosure.
