"To be a woman you must behave like one."
This is the exact kind of attitude that has oppressed women all these years. If they want to act like that, they should be allowed to act like that without men like YOU telling them that they're suddenly "not women".
But I do agree with you that some people do not have manners when it comes to acting civilised. It's not a matter of femininity, it's a manner of civility and the world has just been declining in that for years and years, and isn't going to stop.

i think that the reason women have lost respect for themselves is because of soiciety. Society since the beginning of history has put us down. we should cook and clean. and the men get the bread. songs these days call us bithches and hoe's and when we are in a asmosphere where there are things said about us like that; we tend to get use to it and just go with it. We are told that we are hoes and bitches and now we even gotten into a point were women are callin each other bitches and hoes and we think its alright. Some women even think that being a ***** is a trem of inderment. Its like how men think being a pimp is the best. Its cool. I dont know society hows gotten into such a place that i think its irraplaceable. I mean right now we are the fattest, the rudest and the most poullutainated society ever and we are scrwed up. i jus hope it gets better

When the first people started coming to america they labeled the indians as savages and expected them to live by thier standards. They found it wrong and distasteful that the women wore no tops and that the men wore only a small skin to cover themselves. The indians didnt wear the skins to cover themselves but did so for thier protection and the settlers over time made the indians change thier ways and soon began to think like the settlers that the body was dirty and must be covered up.
It is the same thing with the way people talk. People in different parts of the world and society have different ways of talking and to them it can be very natural and it does not seem wrong or distasteful.
I personally do not talk like that and I doubt that I ever would but I also dont live in that society.
There is no way of saying how a woman must act to be a woman.
I feel a woman should be warm , loving and caring but also strong and educated.
You say you dont know how a woman should behave because you are not one but yet you expect them to behave a certain way. The women you find unattractive and crude just ignore and find some that are attractive to you and dont worry about how the others act.
Everyone has thier own way of living, we cant all live the same way and just be thankful that not all women act or talk like that.
If you are finding that you are only meeting women that speak that way I would suggest that you start trying to meet women in different areas.
Its not anger that causes women to speak like that either its comes from what they are used to hearing and the enviroment that they grow up in.
Its just like a small child when learning to talk , they for some reason pick up all the cus words alot faster than they do normal words.
If a baby is japanese and is brought up in a house where only german is spoken that baby is going to speak german.
Just like girls who speak ghetto 9 times out of 10 live in the ghetto and they dont have to be homeless. I have never heard homeless people talk like that anyway.
People who talk like that are usually trying to show off and act tuff and homeless people have no reason to show off. For every woman who talks like that there is another woman who doesnt.

i know you may not want to hear this but here... not all the world is like that. just because the majority of the world is in corruption does not mean that all is lost. that is why we have faith, hope, and trust in God. because without our faith, hope and trust we would be more corrupted than we are now. think how we would be without those connections of belief?... this would seem like heaven. but unfortunatly it isnt. do not judge the world by the falts but deeds. isn't it better to find one deed than many falts in oneself? you are consumed in the bad of the world but how about you look at the good? not all woman and men hate and disrespect themselves and others. i love and respect myself as i do others. there are people out there that do things that inspires me so much, i look up and know that not everything is lost, and that i can help to make the world a better place. for every helping hand is a blessing. there are people that ARE like the olden days. some woman and men still take care of their children and not go though abortion because although they are the other spouses child they are also their own flesh and blood, not all gives them up but cherishes the love there children gives them. not all men treat women as their possesion, there are still men who treat woman as their goddess, their lover, their life mate and more. women and men are not all to blame, for their actions. they have influences to be naughty or nice. and not all are naughty we still have people with great kindness that they overcome the dark and have an influence on the world and change other peoples minds. women are not the only ones who supply comfort. my boy, art gives a helping hand and treats me as his equal, and when i need him he is there, he doesnt abandon me. and i do the same for him. yes i do know men and women that disrespect their own and other gender but do not turn the other cheek and judge them, show them the way. for if you turn on them then you are no better then they are, for you not only give into their influences but disregard them, and in a way belittle them and you dont help the problem but may even be what damages and make the matter worse. im not judging you as a mean person, do not get me wrong, but there are always another side. dont get me wrong, im not an optimis, i do see wrong, but i see the right too. well, i hope my opinion did something except lecture and critized....you made a good point and i see it. later, lyla

Well thats easy. Its because most women are trying to fit in with the "in" crowd. Also it has a lot to do with how a person was raised. If you were not raised to respect yourself there is not way you will respect others. Lets face it, I have nothing against the rappers of today, but listen to the music out there. It is different from rap years back. Not that I am that old but I do listen to some of the rap stuff from the 80's and stuff like that.
There are a few self respecting women out there you just have to know where to look. Any women who is confident in herself or her career wouldn't be out there talking like that.
Good luck on your hunt for a good women... Tigger

I have to wonder where you're hanging around if this language disturbs you. The words you're talking about are rude no matter who says them.
Comparing women who use rude language with homeless people in the ghetto? Why do they act like pigs? Maybe you should examine your own biases and speech habits before going off on a tangent like this. Clearly there is not enough respect in the world, as you tirade demonstrates.

Introduction into the work place may be why some men talk this way. This dog eat dog world we live in seams to affect both sexes the same. Not necessarily a gender issue but a culture issue. Telling either sex we need 500 more an hour, and your health insurance rates have tripled is enough to make any one cuss.

Very good question.
There's probably a whole lot of different reason's for each individual. I think some put on front's because their whole lives they've had to fend for themselves so they put out that don't mess with me attitude. Others do because that's all they new, they're parents where like that and so therefore they are too. And I think also, some women are just as confused about what men want as men are about what women want.
I myself don't speak like that or act in those ways, but don't you think it's good for a woman to be assertive and strong as well as being feminine. I guess it depends on what you view of femininity involves, traditionally femininity meant passive, gentle etc, but I definitely think that it's healthy for a woman to stand up for herself, but of course there is an appropriate way.

if they want any attention from men, they THINK they need to act this way to be noticed. Society has made them think this way. Also the clothes are are "in" now are so provacative, it has changed the way we think and act about how a lady should be. If it was up to me, we would be all wearing the cute poodle skirts and providing some mystery for the men to discover!

Because of the way men have treated them, and the way money & mass culture makes it "cool" to treat women like that (no matter what sex you are). Patriarchy requires the sabotage of female alliances and female dignity and character, in order to perpetuate itself, and this is the perfect example. Sure, these women you speak of are not helping themselves, and they could - but there, but for the grace of God, go you and I. Not everyone has been taught to think for herself.
It might even seem to the women as if they have co-opted the very language that oppresses them... don't underestimate them.
