If you want to break metal by making it brittlethat would be hard to do. Tungston isbrittle, yet its one of the strongest metals in the world.

It would be easier to corrode a metalusing HCl acid. Only HCl will work since it is the Chloride that is the active atom whihc combines with the metalsurface. You can get HCL in the form of Muriatic acid in a Hardware store

I am not a metallurgist, but I know that tin makes aluminium brittle. I think it will depend on the metal.

Good question..... and I wish I had a solid concrete answer, I don't. I would hope that when I die, I get left alone. I want to be buried in my box and left there. I hope there is no heaven or hell, cause even though I have tried to live a good karma kinda life, I have made mistakes (none that have landed me in jail) and I fail to belief in God so if you follow that theory I will land in hell. And I can't not imagine something worse that what we live in today. Murder, rape, abuse, stealing, drugs, really what can be worse than watching our children be abused? I want to die and be left alone.
