I have a D but the teacher already told me that they're no way i could possibly bring my grade up, thus they're only two weeks left of the class, what would you do if you were me.

It depends on the rest of your grades and the time table of your school.

If you can drop it without penalty and the other grades you have are good - I would.

If you drop it and are being penalized for it - think about it carefully depending on the penalty.

If all your grades are bad, well... keep it and try again later. Just make sure you go to class and do the work. If you need help, most colleges offer tutoring of some sort - take advantage of it.

Depends on how your school addresses withdrawals.

Some schools have a time limit - if that limit has passed, you might have the option of an Incomplete (I) - or you may simply be given an 'F' which is obviously worse than a 'D'.

If that's the case I would do the work and earn the 'D'.

If withdrawal has no impact on your GPA I'd withdraw.

Oh - and since you're teacher informed you that you can't improve your grade with two weeks left in the course (seems unfair to me), I would consider talking to your academic adviser or ombudsman and see if this is appropriate or if you have any other options.

Have you actually discussed the situation with your instructor in detail, or has he/she just implied to you that you can't improve? If you havent had a long, detailed talk, you need to do it now.

Even if you can't bring up the D, a D is still much better than an F. Chances are if you drop at this point, you'll get an F; you've probably missed the free withdrawl period. You may also want to repeat the course later. If you stick it out until the end now, you're likely to do better when you repeat it.
