I have already planned all that! Im only 40 but hey- life can be taken from anyone any second! I wrote him a long letter and a photo album I made just for him as well as a video and each year I up date them all! Theres a gold necklace he bought me 3 years ago- with his paper route money that will go to him as well as my engagement ring. It was my grandmothers-then my mothers and now mine and I would love to have him pass it on to his wife one day!

I think a good thing to pass down to my child would be something that has already been passed down in the family, something that means a lot to me, and my loved ones. Or even a long held family tradition; my family members keep hopechests and fill them with memories throughout their lives. Pictures, news papers, etc. Something sentimental and very special.

A scrapbook of the family's pics, my family passes a scrapbook with the family tree in it, a bible, jewelry, a quilt (you can even begin a quilt and have every generation add a square from something that was special to them) Hope i helped!

You know, something I would want, the only thing I would want from my grandparents/parents is.. a handblown glass Christmas tree ornament.. the set has been in the family for generations, and I would be honored to possess a piece of my family's history.
