If you are interested in fantasy, here are a few books you may enjoy: Robin Hobb's books are excellent. You should read these trilogies, in order: the Farseer trilogy, the Liveship Traders trilogy and the Tawny Man trilogy. They are all based in the same world, the first and last revolving around the same character while the Liveship Traders is a different set of characters in a different part of that world. She also wrote the Soldier's Son trilogy, in a different world altogether. There is still one or two to come out in that trilogy; I'm not sure, I haven't read it.

Another good author is Christopher Paolini, the author of Eragon and Eldest, the first two books in the Inheritance trilogy. Eragon is being turned into a movie. The third book hasn't come out yet. His books are about dragons, and are based more to older children, but I know many adults who have read and enjoyed them.

if you don't mind classics, Alexandre Dumas' books are really good. :) He's the one who wrote The Three Musketeers. If you're looking for a more modern read, I would recommend Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, and A Game of Thrones, by George R. R. Martin. I would also recommend Robin Hobb's books (as someone else has already mentioned).

For something fun (but old) and really fast reading ...

Look for a series of paperbacks labeled "Blade" by Jeffery Lord.

In short ...

An Englishman (the only human) capable of traveling to other-world dimensions, always arrives there naked, has his way with tons of women (almost) and as things get steamy, is brought back to his home world. Bummer, dude!

It is a fun series and available (IMHO) for all readers of reasonable ages.

One of my fav's!

Enjoy,

Right now I am reading Lisey's Story by Stephen King. Anything by him is a good read. Also anything by Dean Koontz and John Saul

I suggest "A Child called It" by Dave Pelzer. That book is easily the best I have ever read.
