Well, it isn't good to go against ur parents. I understand ur friends have it, but believe me, u really ain't missn Nathan. I'd say to stick to the phone, I'M, EMAIL, and genuine hang-out time with ur frenz. Believe it or not, there are alot of psychos on the net and MYSPACE is where they go to hunt so itz understandable y ur parent dnt want you on there. It can b dangerous 4 someone who isn't careful.
God Bless

unless you know what you're doing, then you're fine. like no giving out personal information blah all that kinda stuff. it would probably be fine, unless your parents had a real good reason. don't just do it behind their backs and they get all mad at you. maybe use a friend to help convince them. my friend's parents wouldn't let her get one for the longest time, but since my brother and i had one, and cause we were friends of the family, they let us help her create hers. she has no specific information on there, just her friends and she still has a layout and everything. plus, my brother and i are her friends and we're always talking to her. and her profile is private.
just remember the question that your parents might ask: why do you want a myspace? my dad still asks me that everytime i go on the website, and it's a question your parents might ask as well.

MySpace isn't the greatest thing. I use it for my very close friends, family, and other pregnant women. I check it every couple of days, but I'm not addicted to it. If you're under the age of either 14 or 16, your profile will be private. That means that the only way people can view your space is if they are on your friends list. And the only way they can get on your friends list is if they know either yoru email or your last name. I think you can choose other personal questions as well. If you really want to get one, let your parents know that your acct will be private. Have them get an acct to, and of course have them on your friends list. That way if they want to check up on you, they can. They can also leave you messages and comments. My parents are in their 60's and they have an acct. They never use it but they have it in case they want to check up on their grandkids who have it.

Unless you're an adult, no you shouldnt get one.

Its not safe, and its easy as a child to confide in a stranger and give out personal information. Not all preditors look like scary middle aged men. A lot of them look like kids your age, with similar interests and vocabularies... theres no way to tell that someone is really who they claim to be on myspace.

Even if you dont give out your personal information, people take your picture and use it for yucky things. Sick men like looking at little teenage girls.

Listen to your parents. They know what theyre talking about.

Iam 23 and married and pregnant, but men were always trying to pick me up on myspace. I had to shut my acount down because it was out of control. Just avoid it until you're an adult and responsible for yourself. Use AIM or email until then.

Your parents know best. I'm 43, and I've had to close down my account several times due to annoying people who I stupidly added as friends. Wait until you're older to worry about Myspace!

it is not up to you to change your mind... but up to your parents. My space is a breeding ground for pedophiles and the like. I don't blame your parents for not letting you get a page on there. I will NOT let my kids. Although this is not the most common thing for a man to get in touch with my children on my space... why on Earth would I want to take a chance? Have you ever watched Dateline News.. "To catch a predator"? It is about men that meet young girls on line and arrange to meet them... SICK
