I am glad that I don't live in the ghetto, I don't particulary like rap music (some of it is okay, mostly old school stuff) hip hop culture has become unbearable to me... once again I like what it was about in the old school... I like most of the style if you are talking about clothes, except for the pants hanging way off the *** that needs to end asap! the slang is getting quite ridiculous...

I don't really think anything about the ghetto, I never lived in one. And I can't say that I have much of an opinion on it because I have never been in that type of environment. I have lived in predominately white areas for a good deal of my life and probably will do so in the future. I don't like rap because its really derragatory and waste of time. I mean yea you can sing about killing somebody, calling someone a b**** all you want, but its not helping anything. Hip hop culture in and of itself needs to improve. I'm black and I really don't like how a good portion of my race thrive on having the whole baby mama and daddy drama situations going on. I really do think more people need to get up and get jobs. And really stop saying that the blacks that do do something with their lives are acting white. Because that mentality is bringing everyone down. There is nothing wrong with style or slang, but I say there is a time and a place for everything, you don't take that same style and slang into a interview, you clean yourself up for that. But everyone has something unique about them from how they talk, walk, and the style of clothes they have. But just have to remember, there is a time and a place for things. But I flip the question on you, how do feel about surburia or the cul-de-sacs? What do you think about country, metal, rock, pop and different musics like that? How do you feel about the mainstream culture/the gay, old navy, and aeropostale styles? also why do you have to use really really big words for simple converstation? I mean I know there isn't any slang in white speech, but why do you feel it necessary to show overly how much you know in one conversation?

I don't like rap music because of the vulgarity but I love R&B music. I like hip hop culture as far as style of dress for women (Gucci, Prada, bathing apes etc.) but not for men. I hate to see guys with baggy pants that look like a dirty diaper sagging in the butt. I think it is okay to use slang if you are using it among friends but you should know proper English because no one will want to hire someone who uses double negatives or doesn't pronounce words properly. I think the ghetto is a place where people live when they can't afford otherwise but the goal should be to come out of poverty. I lived in the ghetto as a young child but my parents continued their education and moved us out of there and into a gated community when I got around 12 years old. Some people claim to be from the ghetto that know nothing about what the ghetto is--I know and it is nothing to glamorize. Where I lived we could not even get pizzas delivered because the pizza guys would get robbed. If you went grocery shopping and left the trunk open while you brought your food in the house it would be gone by the time you got back to the car. And we had Latin and Vietnamese people that lived there but white people could not step foot in our neighborhood. The poor whites lived over the tracks in the trailer park. If a white person got caught in our neighborhood and he was not with someone that everybody knew, he was as good as dead (why do you think the KKK never goes to the ghetto?) I would never want to raise my children in the ghetto; if you've never had to live there you would not understand so don't even try.

I don't like how Some Black people live by the Ghetto life mantality! The ghetto is what is its because some black people don't have the means or don't want the means to a better life. There are some black people in the ghetto that wish they were able to get out and there are some black people that like the ghetto and love living in it. The reason for that is because some black people are afraid to try because they scared they will fail. As a black female, I don't like some of the rap lyrics that degrade women. But the real question is why are people always talking about black people, when they want our skin color, I love my caramel complexion~white people tan to get my color...other races dance to our music, try to dress like us and everything.

I don't live in the ghetto. I would never live in the ghetto. Living in the ghetto doesn't make you "black". (Just wanted to put that out there cause I have had someone come up to me and try to explain how it does..). Big ups to the people who have to live there cause it's tough. Bigger ups to the people who get out. I don't mind the slang to much (except when ppl say ****** in any form). The style is ok. I don't wear it, but it's ok. I don't listen to rap like that. I will listen to some, not all. I especially don't like rap that has curse words every other word, and that are very violent, talks explictly about sex, violience, and makes thug life look like this great thing.
However, I do like R&B. I perfer singers over rappers.

Why is the ghetto only associated with Black people? I don't live there so I can't speak about . I don't care for rap music personally, but I will dance to at the club but that's it. I prefer, R&B, Pop, and some rock.

I wish that some of my people would drop the ghetto mentality and wake up. I hate rap music because it's talks bad about women and makes us as a race look horrible because that's all America sees on tv. They don't get to see the good stuff just the negative stuff that lives up to the stereotypes.

White people purchase watermelons continuously, and only simply by fact us of a of america observed black people consume watermelon that's would not recommend you men ought to be racist approximately it. "cover the Watermelon" is even a real activity. Your in all probability the sole individual who performs it. without black people.
