No idea on how to initiate it :( Please show steps

Basically you take the natural log of each side. The e and the natural log cancel out, so you get
8 - 7x = ln49
Exactly where you go from here depends on how you are supposed to write answers. If a decimal answer is expected, you just find ln49 and solve the equation (subtract 8 and divide by -7). If you're supposed to have something like "simplified log form", you would probably re-write ln49 = ln(7^2) = 2ln7. So you'd have
8 - 7x = 2ln7
-7x = 2ln7 - 8
x = (2ln7 - 8)/-7
