When you think of the ghetto, do you automatically think color, race, violence, ignorance, rap music? What do you think of?

I automatically do think of that stuff. That does not mean I connect it with anything negative in any way.

The first thing I think, I swear, is that the word Ghetto was what Jewish neighborhoods were called in Europe. In the area I live now, if someone says Ghetto, it is usually an adjective, like "She's so ghetto" and it makes me think she is probably black, poor, has metal teeth and would kick my a$$ if she had the chance. Since you asked.

I've known a lot of people in my life that lived or presently live in the ghetto and the one thing that stands out to me is that over 90% of them complain and blame someone else for them being there and they are doing absolutely nothing to get themselves out. Nobody owes anyone a free ride in this country. You get what you work for.

In America, I think when people think of the ghetto, that have to point fingers mostly at blacks because of what rap artists have sung about.
