Hold down the power button for 6 seconds. The Wii console will turn them all off when you turn it off. If they are inactive for too long they turn off too.

You dont,but in a different way.It never turns off,but it does not waste battery,just hold the power button,and the system wiil also turn off,so u remote does also.

You just press and hold the little power button on the top left section of the wiimote. When the little blue lights go off at the bottom, then the wiimote is off.
