Coral is actually a living organism, but when it dies it turns white. And i dont think fish have the brain capacity to 'realise' anything....lol

I wouldn't eat a fish that was laying in the water or on the shore, grab yourself a rod and reel and some bait and catch your own, it's easy i go fishing about once a week free meal. Go for the live ones not the dead ones. To know if they have been dead for a while their eyes will be cloudy ..., the fins will be torn, or odd black spots. But it is all about the eyes cloudy no good, but either way fish laying dead don't eat, catch one fresh then you can eat, can recommend beer battered blue gill so good, sure do love ice fishing in south dakota.

They may but I doubt it.And even if they did, most fish have a very short memory so they wouldn't remember that they used to know.

I'm sure they don't care, just like bed bugs and dust mites don't care that they feed off our dead skin cells, or mosquitoes, who feed off our blood.
