People hate what they do not know or understand -- that is the root of all prejudice in our world.

Unfortunately, when one is only exposed to the ill-informed prejudice of their surroundings, have been carefully 'taught' that this person is evil (because they are of this ethnicity or region/nation), and they NEVER go out to really LEARN about the person (from this other ethnicity or region/nation), then they, too, as adults, will perpetuate the same PREJUDICE and HATE in the next generation -- their children, and so forth -- ad infinitum UNTIL

ONE DAY -- in the blink of the eye -- ONE of their children or family members DECIDES to take a CHANCE -- to go out and MEET someone different (of another ethnicity, region, country/state/religious belief) -- and through that MEETING they find out that what they were 'carefully taught' by the prejudicial labels passed down through posterity were WRONG -- then CHANGE will happen -- and Lo and Behold -- the World View is changed --- and now, with the NEW experience of LEARNING ... Meeting ... Talking ... they find out ...

Hey, what I was so 'carefully taught' is NOT what is the TRUTH after all!

I think it is a little of everything. There is a misconception around the world that every American citizen agrees with what policies our government puts out.So if the government says the war is good, than most other countries think that all Americans think the same way. Understand? And at one time long before most of us were born, there was a feeling of we are better than anyone else around the world, and we can do things better than anyone else, and I would say yes, back then maybe, but, not now with all the things that are not made in this country anymore. To a certain extent we are still a free country, but look a little closer and you will see that we are slowly becoming something else. Don't get me wrong,I love this country, but I don't like some of the things we do.

I dont like America as a country that is arrogantly acting as world police with its huge military power. Nobody asked you to do so.

But I like Americans who created Rock & Roll. Without R&R and the rock-influenced pop music around the globe, the world would have been totally different today. R&R is America's greatest contribution to the world.

If Americans have more objective view toward yourself, which will make you more sensitive about cultural differences among the nations, America would be respected more.

Its nice to know that there are people in America (like you) who try to listen to opinions from other countries.

Americans are frowed upon in many countries around the world, simply because most American tourists in foreign countries are obnoxious, rude & downright disrespectful.
Would you like someone that poked fun at your customs & courtesies, disregarded the laws of your country and all around made a mockery of everything that isn't of the red, white & blue?
People around the world dislike Americans because Americans ask for it.
Ask anyone who's traveled abroad.

I don't like Americans at all, every time an American comes to visit my country you guys don't respect our culture and our laws, and if any time you break our law you'll go to prison, don't start crying for help to your country or your President Bush afterward. And a lot of you will say "OH YOU CAN'T ARREST ME BECAUSE I AM AN AMERICAN"

I guess people see Americans asking god to bless them and them only and this attitude is evident when witnessing them on holidays overseas, loud, obnoxious "you cant do this I'm an American" kind of talk. I suppose when you grow up being taught you are better then everybody else you tend to be a bully

the only ones that hate us and our land are the ones that have tried to live off the system and the system kicked them off. they just either need to get over it or go back to where they came from.
