Usually if there is a 'ring' your shade is too dark or too light.

When you can find the right shade apply it like this.

Wet a cosmetic sponge and put a dime sized amount on it, then apply four dots on your moisturized face with it. Forehead, chin and both cheeks. Then blend it all in well, making sure to go farther then just your jawline and making sure to blend into your hairline.

Then apply a little more onto the sponge and supply in areas that need a little more coverage and make sure you finish with a translucent powder.

I am a makeup artist and this is what I think;

Foundation helps to even out skin tone and give the look of flawless skin. Apply in the morning and set with powder to keep a smooth complexion all day.

STEP 1: Begin with clean hands and a clean face.

STEP 2: Apply moisturizer appropriate to your skin type. Let it set a few minutes, particularly if your skin is oily.

STEP 3: Camouflage under-eye circles and blemishes with concealer.

STEP 4: Select a foundation that is appropriate to your skin type and the coverage you wish to achieve. The color should match your skin, disappearing when blended well.

STEP 5: Shake the bottle well to mix the formula. Or, simply open a stick or compact version.

STEP 6: Place a small amount of foundation on the back of one hand. Dip your makeup sponge or your middle finger into it.

STEP 7: Apply to the center of your face: cheeks, forehead, chin.

STEP 8: Blend out to your hair and jawline until the foundation vanishes. Pay special attention to blending around the nose, mouth and jawline.

STEP 9: Set the foundation with loose powder immediately following application.

Tips & Warnings

Foundation can be spot-applied to the areas where you need to even out your skin tone. Remember to set your face with loose powder after application.

Hope that helps.

if your getting this ring around your face it means its the wrong color or its not blended right around the neck, i would use a brush beucase sponges will soak up all your foundation and fingers are 10 things with germs get the brush and paint your face bringing the foundation down to your neck then when your finish doing that get a dry latex sponge and kind of tap the sponge around your neck blending it in you could do this on your face also. i really love the MAC 187 brush for foundation it leaves it even and airbrush looking its us$48 dollars but worth it! you can use it for blush's also.

i had the same problem. this works SUPER for me: wash ur face, dab to dry blend some OLAY face lotion for day and get it all over then like 10 seconds after apply the foundation. don't put more than you need or smeer it cuz it will just make you have to apply more. i use my finger, but don't use your finger unless you wash first cuz u don't want to smeer oil onto ur skin o ya and make sure the foundation is oil free!! good luck!

You have to dig down at least 3 feet here in the Northeast. Get below the frost line. That way the building won't heave and it will last a long time too.

Make sure you blend it all the way out. Wipe it into your hair line all around your face and down your neck. BLEND BLEND BLEND. Don't worry about getting it in your hair.
