As others have already mentioned, any monitor will work with your Mac. If it's a VGA monitor though, you'll need to purchase a DVI - VGA adapter (Male to Female) in order to connect.

As far as peripherals go, you can use any USB mouse with your Mac.

Macs aren't lepers!
You don't have to have a Mac monitor but chances are you'll need a male/female piece of some sort that fits on the cord to connect to the CPU because there is usually a size difference. The computer needs to be able to recognize the mouse.. There are many that work for both systems but my answers are vague because I don't know what Mac you're referring to. I've owned nothing but Macs and the only time I really have 'issues' is when they just don't make certain software for Macs. I wouldn't use anything else.

My school had macs running on normal monitors. As for the mouse, i saw a mac with a two-button windows-style mouse, and it just used the left and right button as the standard mac click. If you have an i-mac, though, i think you have to use the built in monitor, there isnt a video out port to my knowledge.

The only thing that comes in handy is the keyboard. I have my Mac Mini plugged into my old Dell mouse and monitor. I did instantly spill water on my Mac keyboard, completely frying it, and have an ancient keyboard -- I think it was $9.99 from Best Buy!
The keyboard is handy becaue it has the eject key, nothing else needs to be Mac.

I have my Mac hooked up to a regular Sony monitor. It works just fine. No video card needed.
The mouse that comes with your Mac only has one button, but you can use a regular two button mouse with it if you prefer. Or you can control click to reach the functions that you would get to by right clicking.
Enjoy your Mac. They're great machines!

Yes, as long as you have a extension unit that connects to the MAC by firewire and the other end with a monitor connection. Or you could install a video card in the MAC slot to use a regular monitor.

Yes. The monitor or display of a computer is the primary user interface. Monitor problems are some of the most common computer problems since the voltages inside a monitor can be as high as 10 KV. Many of the problems can be fixed yourself by simply changing the settings. Detailed instructions available at http://fixit.in/monitor.html

You can use any moniter as long as it has the right inputs for the moniter. And yes, the mouse is different for the MAC then it is for the PC.
